40% of agentic AI projects
will be canceled by 2027.
We build the architecture
that prevents that.
Datanation is the engineering studio for the intelligent enterprise — cloud & data architecture, cross-platform mobile, and agentic AI under one engineering standard. We do client work, and we ship our own products. QueueHamster is live today.
- 3pillars
- One engineering standard across consulting, labs, agents
- AWS+GCP
- Multi-cloud-native by default
- MCPnative
- The agent protocol the frontier has agreed on

The three pillars
Three disciplines.
One engineering standard.
Deployed in the order enterprises actually need them — data first, mobile where it matters, agents where they pay off. Each pillar is operated by a small team of senior engineers, sharing the same standards, tooling, and discipline. You engage one studio — and inherit the breadth of all three.
Our point of view
The 40% Problem.
Read the full point of view →More than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027 — not because the technology fails, but because organizations deploy autonomous systems before their data architecture, governance, and operating models can support them. (Gartner, June 2025.)
We exist to fix the ordering. We start with the data architecture review you wish you'd done. We build the agents on top of MCP because it's the only protocol the frontier has agreed on. We engage in 8-week minimums, not 8-month decks.
Technical infrastructure
A dashboard view of the stack.
Every engagement runs on the same opinionated technical scaffolding — three layers, fully observable, multi-cloud by default. The tools are deliberate. We have opinions about every one of them.
Multi-cloud-native by default. AWS + GCP. Pick the right tool, not the relationship.
- AWS Primary cloud for enterprise data + agent runtimes.
- GCP Secondary cloud for ML, BigQuery-native analytics, and Vertex.
- Firebase Hosting, Functions, Firestore — for product surfaces and form pipelines.
- Terraform Infrastructure as code. Every environment reproducible from a git ref.
- Kubernetes When the workload genuinely needs it. Never as a résumé item.
- Cloudflare CDN, Web Analytics (cookieless), and Turnstile for spam mitigation.
Pipelines that survive contact with production. dbt, Iceberg, the warehouse you actually have.
- Airflow Orchestration for established teams. Dagster for greenfield.
- Snowflake SQL analytics default. Databricks when ML + agents drive the engine choice.
- dbt Transformation default. SQLMesh past ~200 models or hairy incrementality.
- Kafka Confluent or MSK. Kinesis only when AWS-tied. Redpanda when latency is the constraint.
- pgvector Vector layer that starts with the Postgres you already run.
- Monte Carlo Quality + observability at production scale. Great Expectations for early-stage.
Architecture-first agents. MCP-native by default. Evals before the agent ships.
- Bedrock AgentCore Runtime default on AWS — memory, identity, managed MCP gateway out of the box.
- Vertex AI Agent Builder GCP equivalent — the right call when the client is GCP-anchored.
- MCP The only agent protocol the frontier has agreed on. Custom internal MCP servers compound.
- LangGraph Orchestration: real agentic workflows are state machines, not chains.
- Temporal Durable execution when the agent must survive crashes mid-workflow.
- Braintrust Evals as code — written before the agent ships, run on every change.
What we've built
A studio that ships.
Datanation is an engineering studio. We do client work across three practice pillars — and we build our own products too. The same engineering bar applies to both.
QueueHamster is the first product we've shipped: a virtual queue management SaaS for independent service businesses, live in production since May 2026, running on the same React Native + Expo + Firebase stack we recommend to clients.
Most consulting firms talk about shipping. Few do. The studio model means client work and product work share one team, one standard, and one feedback loop.
QueueHamster
Virtual queue management for independent service businesses — barbershops, clinics, salons, cafés, vets, pharmacies.
Live in production since May 2026.
Built on React Native · Expo · Firebase.
